(Laura Flanders is author of Real Majority, Media Minority : The Cost of Sidelining Women in Reporting (Common Courage Press, 1997). Hosts the daily radio show, Working Assets Radio with Laura Flanders, on San Francisco’s KALW (91.7 FM, 10-11am PST). Flanders was founding director of
Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR)’s Women’s Desk, and for more than ten years she produced and hosted CounterSpin, FAIR’s weekly, syndicated radio program. She’s worked as a senior correspondent for Pacifica Radio and news director of the Pacifica Network News. She’s been a correspondent for the PBS series Rights and Wrongs, a panelist on the Fox News Channel’s Newswatch and a regular commentator on CBC’s program CounterSpin (no relation to FAIR’s show). A freelance reporter and commentator, she writes a monthly column for In These Times and contributes regularly to The Nation, Ms., The Progressive and others.
